Our Team

Hello, my name is El Simpson, and I’m the founder of Youth Empowering Society (Y.E.S.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young adults through education, mentorship, financial literacy, and community involvement.

For more than 20 years, I have worked with young people from underserved communities, helping them develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to build successful futures. Throughout my journey, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges many young adults face when access to opportunity, guidance, and practical life skills is limited.

Youth Empowering Society was created to help bridge that gap.

Our mission is to educate and empower young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 by providing resources, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences that promote financial stability, personal responsibility, leadership, and community engagement.

Through our programs and partnerships, participants are introduced to essential life skills including:

● Financial Literacy and Money Management

● Budgeting and Saving

● Career Readiness and Workforce Development

● Leadership and Personal Growth

● Community Engagement

● Goal Setting and Personal Accountability

We work alongside community leaders, educators, financial institutions, businesses, and volunteers to create meaningful opportunities that help young adults build a stronger foundation for their future.

One of our long-term educational initiatives is Life Skills University (LSU), a program designed to provide practical knowledge and workforce readiness training that prepares participants for success in life and their careers.

The vision of Youth Empowering Society extends beyond individual achievement. We believe that when young people are given the right tools, support, and opportunities, they can become leaders who strengthen families, improve communities, and create lasting positive change.

Cleveland, Ohio serves as the foundation for our work, but our vision reaches far beyond one city. Our goal is to inspire, educate, and empower young adults wherever opportunities for growth and development are needed.
